Cottage Entrance Door in a Reclaimed-Brick Surround

A new anthracite-grey cottage entrance door — vertically boarded with a small glazed light — fitted into a fresh reclaimed-brick surround with a soldier-course brick head, set into an otherwise rendered wall. A slate cill finishes the threshold and a light sits above the head.

Forming a doorway opening, building the brick surround and head to look original, and hanging a door square and weathertight is small-scale structural work handled with the same care as the bigger jobs. It's the kind of detail our clients call skilled across a range of building crafts.
